The Tamson TLB50 ASTM D7501 cold soak bath is a bath to soak the samples according to ASTM D7501, IP PM EA, CEN N 403 and CGSB 3.0 No. 142.. The bath is equipped with integrated cooling and has a very large capacity to cold soak samples at temperatures ranging from -5°C up to +80°C. The benchtop bath with integrated cooling can replace the combination of a water bath with an external cooling circulator. This not only saves bench space, but also costs because of its high cooling efficiency. The TLB50 can be connected to a PC using the RS232 connection. The PC can control the setpoint temperature. The cold soak bath is equipped with a levelling platform, rack and bottle holders, to prevent the bottles from floating.

TLB50 for cold soak filterability test conform ASTM D7501. In this test method, 300 mL of biodiesel (B100) is stored at 4.5 ±0.5°C (40 ± 1°F) for 16 h, allowed to warm to 25 ±1° C (77 °F), and vacuum filtered through a single 0.7 um glass fiber filter at controlled vacuum levels of ~70&-85 kPa (21-25 in. of Hg). The cold soak bath is specially designed to condition the biodiesel samples in 500 mL jars at 4.5°C for sixteen hours. The TLB50 bath can be used to maintain the samples at +25°C after the cold soak test. The TLB50 has a capacity of up to twelve bottles. The TLB50 offers vey precise temperature control and has a very rapid cooldown time. When the setpoint is reached, the cooling power is strongly reduced to save energy consumption. Above 40°C cooling is switched-off automatically to save energy. The used cooling system is ozone friendly and doesn't contain any CFK/HCFK gas.
The temperature readout readout is in two decimals and can be switched between °C or °F via the menu.
