ASTM D1122 density apparatus
SKU
00T2000-D1122

This test method covers the determination of the relative density of glycols, glycerin, heat transfer fluids, engine coolant concentrates, and aqueous engine coolants.

It determines the relative density (specific gravity) of:

  • Engine coolant concentrates (ethylene glycol or propylene glycol based)
  • Prediluted engine coolants
  • Aqueous glycol heat-transfer fluids

As density changes significantly with temperature accurate temperature control is important. The setup offers a TLC15 for accurate temperature control within specifications.

Application can be found for automotive coolant manufacturing, service station quality checks, antifreeze verification and heat transfer fluid monitoring.

The Tamson ASTM D1298 apparatus is available in the following voltages/frequencies:

  • Tamson ASTM D1122 230V/50Hz (P/N: 00T2000)
  • Tamson ASTM D1122 230V/60Hz (P/N: 00T2001)
  • Tamson ASTM D1122 115V/60Hz (P/N: 00T2002)

Standard Test Method for Relative Density of Engine Coolant Concentrates and Engine Coolants By The Hydrometer.

It determines the relative density (specific gravity) of:

  • Engine coolant concentrates (ethylene glycol or propylene glycol based)
  • Prediluted engine coolants
  • Aqueous glycol heat-transfer fluids

This method is widely used in automotive and coolant manufacturing laboratories for quality control and concentration verification.

This test method covers the determination of the relative density of glycols, glycerin, heat transfer fluids, engine coolant concentrates, and aqueous engine coolants.

As density changes significantly with temperature accurate temperature control is important. The setup offers a TLC15 for accurate temperature control within specifications.

Application can be found for automotive coolant manufacturing, service station quality checks, antifreeze verification and heat transfer fluid monitoring.

The method offers quick, simple and inexpensive testing and is suitable for routine quality control.
