TC16 ASTM D2440 Apparatus

The ASTM D2440 test method covers the oxidation stability of mineral transformer oils. For these tests, the sample needs to be aged. The robust Tamson TC16 is an excellent solution for this ageing procedure. The bath can be delivered together with the prescribed glassware, flow meters, air dryer and catalyst copper coils. The Tamson ASTM D2440 apparatus is an excellent solution for determining the Oxidation Stability of Mireal Insulating oil conform ASTM D2440. Tamson can supply the apparatus with the prescribed glassware and six positions for ageing of the sample.The Tamson ASTM D2440 apparatus consists of one liquid bath equipped with six sets of calibrated flowmeters and six sets of glassware. The flowmeters have a fine adjustable needle valve, to ensure the correct amount of oxygen is supplied. A dryer tower is also supplied and can be mounted on the side of the bath. The liquid bath is well insulated and all wetted parts are made from stainless steel to withstand high working temperatures. The stainless steel parts can easily be cleaned. Grommets around the openings protect the glassware from scratches. The apparatus should be placed in a fume hood. In case this is not possible, six additional pieces of glassware can be used together with the standard supplied side brackets to prevent smell spreading into the laboratory. The wetted parts in the TC16 are made from stainless steel. The TC16 is used for precise temperature control and offers high reliability for use under rough circumstances. The insulation of the bath and electronic design result in a stable working temperature of ± 0.02°C. The set point temperature can be set in steps of 0.1°C in the range of 0°C up to 250°C (32°F..482°F). The accuracy on the display is displayed in 0.1°C. However the controller has an internal accuracy of 0.01°C. This two decimal-readout also is available from the optional RS232 and the free Tamcom software. The bath is equipped with a cooling coil for counter-cooling. The bath conforms to CE regulation. It is further equipped with a mechanical resettable safety thermostat and a drain to empty the bath.
